Batch Exporting Layouts as DWG,DXF,CKD,

Ken,
The quick answer is no! however you can get around the NO buy a really long KXL that will save each layout to its own CKD file then export that file.

HOWEVER,
I will tell you that version 6.0 has the capability you are after so if you plan on upgrading then just wait a few more months( I hope that soon) until version 6.0 comes out.

help with solids

Alger,

Have you tried the Video's here on this site?
I know they are for version 3.0 however most if not all of them will still work the same way in version 5.2.

The real differance is there is more functionality in 5.2 and the icon have changed a little.

Ken Lemay,

The function is and was there in version 5.5.1 however it was broken!
In version 6 the function is there however I have not tested that function.

I will test the KXL and get back to you, hopefully tomorrow.
If you what to play with it the function is called "EXPORT ENTITIES".
In version 5.5.1 there was no way to pass the entities to the function however now it appears that they made provisions for that variable.

Ken LeMay,

I just uploaded a new KXL for version 6.0 that will batch export all layouts as DWG file to a predetermined folder name.
It will also prompt the user to print each one of the layouts as soon as it is exported.

Views Dave,
Is the file a cadkey file or imported from another cad program?
If you imported the drawing in then you can use the settings in the import function to import to a defined view or import it in "as is"!

Can you email me the parasolid file and the cadkey file after you imported it?

Return Radius in kxl file

Kpoppel,

If your Radius is smaller then 1 then you will need to use %.4f in the pause line.
The %d will return a whole number and if it is smaller then .501 (I think) it will round it to 0.

Return Radius in kxl file

Just as a side note the %.4f means that it will be a 4 places.
%.1f = .0
%.2f = .00
%.3f = .000
%.4f = .0000
%.5f = .00000
and so on!

CAD KEY 19 on Windows XP/Domain Workstation

TechAdmin,
Have you assigned the network users the Admin rights to the local machine?
they dont have to have network Admin rights but they are required to have local admin right the the PC. This is differant then folder control rights.

Some times the network user doesnt even have a account on the local machine, If there is no account then create one and grant then local admin rights if they do have a user on that pc then just change the access to local admin rights.

That should fix you up.

Forum Activity

Pete,

I agree, one thing to keep in mind is that even on the Kubotek web site there is only about 20 to 30 active participants on the forum.
There are many more users and viewers of these forums but most do not participate in them. This forum was set up primarily for users of the older products like CadKey and WorkShop, But even then there is still very little user activity.

I have thought about removing this forum from my site since there is very little usage but then there will be one or two people that come along with a question for the older versions and then it reminds me why it is here.
Anyway thanks for visiting and if you have any input for the forum please insert it.

Download Issues

maurizio,

We have placed a limit of 10 file downloads on everyone’s account.
There was a few people that was downloading everything we had all at once
the purpose of the file library was to make files available to everyone and not to
tie up the server so that no one could download any.

So we put a 10 file limit, You can get more by two ways:
1. Email me your reasons( maybe a trainer, or educator Ect.)
2. Upload your own files to share with the rest of the people.

For each upload you can download another file.

cnc conversion from cadkey 99

Tex,
We will need a little more information to answer this question.
Are you sending the DXF file to the machine and creating the code there?
Or are you wanting to create the NC Code in CadKey and send that to the machine?

Matt,
yes, there is a Icon that looks like a mountain with the sun over it. That is how you put a picture inyour post. The one thing you need to do first is put the picture on the web some where and point to it.

Like this http://www.geotrictech.com/images/real01.jpg

Once you place the image on a server some where, any where, then you can link it to this forum.
