teste Testing Netscape 7.2

Netscape Problems We have fixed the problem with the font color being white while using netscape to post replys in the forum.
All of the users of netscape, mozila, firefox and others please test this to see if we still have problems.
However you still wont be able to change the font size, color or style, we are sorry about that.

KC 4.0 Anything to look out for?

Yes, I think that the biggest problem is in the DXF/DWG translation!
There is a big scale problem that the exported DXF/DWG is not exported in the right scale, not just the geomerty but the dimensions as well.

So be carefull, We try to use full size layouts as much as possiable however I now you are dealing with airplanes so that would be a big piece of paper.

Other then that I love it and there is no way I could go back to Keycreator 3.0.
now thats just my opinion.

KC 4.0 Anything to look out for?

Also they have added back the layout wizard ,if thats what you want to call it.
however it is very ackward to use not like cadkey 19. I have found that I have to turn it off then create the layout then create the instances and dont even use the wizard.

One thing you will like is the detail view option however if your layout is not to scale then the scale callout on the detail will not be right. it is a scaled detail view of a scaled layout. other then that it is a really nice function.

Printing too light Have you tried setting the line width to a higher number in the printer set up dialog is side of keycreator?

Printing too light

Is this where you are changing the line width?

Go to TOOLS> OPTIONS>PRINT/PLOT> then select the printer configuration that you want to modify the select the modify button then got to width scale tab.

I set all of mine to .3 then my white to .625 and that works out very well.

Printing too light

I set my white to a highter number because I want my "black" to be darker and wider then all of the other colors. I dont like to draw my borders and text wide and dark so I take care of that in the print config settings.

To print in color you will need to change your white to print black and your black to print white.
The borders and text are drawn white so only they will be printer wide and black.

Printing too light

Larry,
The HP 4V is a laser B&W printer right?
If so then you wont see the differance because everything is eather printed black or printed in a gray scale.
If you print to a color printer and you dont set the white to black and black to white then the white items on your drawing wont print since they are white.

Printing too light

When you print do you selcet a print confiuration?
If not then it will use the default configuration, you can seen the one set for default by the * by the name of the configuration. As you can see by my example I have manny so I pick the one I want it to print like.

You probably only have one(default) so when you changed the config it worked!

ASCII Characters Map

What type of information are you looking for?
It should follow the same as anny other character map.
The only differace is that Keycreator/Cadkey does not include any special characters just the basic leters and numbers. If you are looking for more characters then you will probably have to use a windows font.

ASCII Characters Map

Well, I dont have an answer. I think that it is a Unicode issue.

Couldn't you just use two of the single "<" to do the same thing?

I know it doesn't look the same!

Tabular Dimentioning

Are you refering to the Hole Chart feature?

In the Automatic dimensioning there is the Hole chart option.
Check it out and see if that will do!

Bursting instances

I have only found a few times that I needed to Burst the instance, Both times it was eather fix the rendered veiw or to export it into another CAD/CAM program!

As for the advantages/Disadvantages:
The biggest disadvantage is that the geometry is nolonger assocated with your model. I have use the bursting method for Exploded ISO view.
You could say that it is an advantage and a disadvantage!

Light source

No, You can't however you can add another "Light" and it will make it look better.
You wont be able to get all of the glare out but it will look better.

Note Angle

Andre,

That's a good question.
It seems as if Keycreator does not remember the angle when XFormed.
I don't have an answer for you other then draw a line at the bottom of the test and then verify the angle. It wont be perfect but will be close enough for text.

cadkey the best for me.

Osca,

about 90% of my time is 3D modeling and the other 10% is 2D detail work. I use model mode and layout mode and have found that there are only a few times when the model does not "work" well in layout mode however I then just burst the instance then start the 2D work.
I have found that there are a lot of different way to draw and many people do things very different so there cant be a normal and abnormal way to do things. If it works for you then you are doing it right.

As for starting a drawing in 2D I for one can say that is the hard way to do it. With just 2D geometry you loose most of the nice features of KeyCreator such as the auto instance update when a hole is moved and things like that. I made the switch to 3D about 10 years ago and there is no way I could go back to 2D drawing for the whole project.

3D in model mode and 2D in layout mode it the way to go plane and simple.

Faster layout Creation?

I have been working on a way to create layout instances for a faster layout creation.

My question is: Are there any users that would like to have a CDE tool that will prompt for the solid you want to create a set of instances for (top,Front,Right Side, And ISO) then prompt for the rendering type and the layout to be placed in and the location for the new set?

This will work some what like the layout wizard does except that you can add instance sets in layout of your choice as well as multiple sets in one layout, for large D sized layouts.

I have created a couple of KXL's that will create the layouts to preset scales and places the boarders in the layouts and names the layout. As well as filling in the title blocks.

If any one is interested in this CDE please Email me at kenhar@ckdexpert.com

Rendering

rangereng,

I am not sure what you are asking, However if you are asking about rendering can you send the file and I will see if my "Super Computer" will render it.

I have a dual processor 3.8 GHz with 2 Gigs of ram and 256 Mg Video card.
If that cant do it then I am sure there is a problem with Keycreator.
I haven't found very many solids or assy's that I cant render even if they are a corrupted solid they just look really funny.
